Questions to apply to all briefs

1.     Identify two personal skills that the marketing department personnel have that will be beneficial when planning

The marketing department personnel will need research skills to find what their target audience wants and needs in their product plus they need good communication skills to talk to the customers and find the information they need and pass that onto the production team.

2.     Identify two skills the project manager needs to run this project

The project manager will need good skills in communication to get their message across to their employees and to makes sure the project goes along smoothly. Plus they will need leadership skills to ensure a well controlled work environment and a highly productive work force.

3.     Identify all of the client requirements

The client requirements are to research two existing video game advertising campaigns. Then plan how best to promote the chosen game in order to create buzz and anticipation in our target audience so that they become eager to play it. Describe the unique selling point of your chosen game and why it will be a success with our target audience.

4.     Identify all of the explicit requirements

Must research one game out of the two given, Find the unique selling point and why it will be a success for the target audience. Promote the game in the best way to create buzz and anticipation for the game.

5.     Identify one client requirement from the brief and explain how this might impact on the pre-production process.

Having to select from 2 games may create some delay as there might be time put into choosing which game to research into and complete marketing for and make it relevant and intriguing to students in their target audience.

6.     Which client requirements allow for creativity from the production team?

The television campaign will give the production team room for creativity due to it being left a large budget. The big budget will allow them to do more and have more opportunity for different ideas letting their creativity take the wheel.

7.     What project management tools might be used to organise the planning of this project?

They could use SWOT analysis to see what is in need for see their products to improve and what is in a good position for their project. They also can use milestones to ensure they stay ahead of tasks and keep on schedule.

8.     As well as a Gantt Chart, what project management tool might be useful and why?

The use of a production schedule could be useful as it provides structure and order while making the production allowing people to stay on the tasks  needed to keep to the deadline.

9.     Explain how you might use different project management tools to plan the research and planning of this project

By using a SWOT analysis it can help identify the necessary tools needed in each department to ensure that they create to the best of their ability. By finding the weaknesses in the product they can then put more resources towards that thing and turn it from a weakness into something useful. Plus when looking at possible threats they could create contingency plans for the necessary threats that may occur
